This was inspired by a pied kingfisher that we saw in Sri Lanka and Thailand.
‘Pied’ birds are right up my alley when it comes to colour pallet because ‘pied’ refers to the fact that a bird is two or more different colours, but it’s nearly always black and white – which is exactly my colour pallet most of the time!
Thinking of this bird brings back fond memories of family time, boat rides and kayaking through a mangrove (even though I’m not one hundred percent sure those all happened at the same time, because it was a while ago…)
